Cabrera is a prize-winner at the 1rst José Iturbi International Music Competition in America and XVI International Piano Competition José Iturbi in Valencia and IX Grieg International Piano Competition in Oslo, where he won Special Prizes for his interpretations of Spanish Music, Frederick Chopin and Edward Grieg. Ángel Cabrera is regarded internationally as one of the finest pianists of his generation, inspiring respect in his interpretations for his smoothness and his vitality and distinguishing himself for his intimate and colorful sound.

Born in Guadalajara (Spain), He began his musical studies with Esther Zillarbide in his hometown conservatory, later on with Fernando Puchol at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid and Galina Eguiazarova at the Reina Sofia School of Music, receiving the diploma of best piano interpreter by Her Majesty Queen Sophia of Spain, and his Solo piano Diploma and Chamber Music Diploma. He completes his training with Boris Bloch at the Folkwang Universitat der Kunste de Essen in Germany, obtained the Soloist Diploma.

In parallel with his formation, he received advises from Aldo Ciccolini, Rosalyn Tureck, Krystian Zimerman, Martha Gulyas, Vitaly Margulis, Claude Frank y Peter Serkin among others.

From his debut at the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid at the “Soloist from the XX1”, Angel Cabrera begins a intense artistic career taking part in prestigious cycles and festivals in most of European countries, North Africa, Asia and America, such as Klavier Festival Ruhr in Essen, Société des concerts de Fribourg, Festival de Montpellier, Academie Musicale de Villecroze, Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander, Festival Iberoamericano Manuel de Falla, UAM Grandes Autores e Intérpretes de la Música, Festival Al Bustan Líbano, Festival International Festival of Symphonic Music of Algiers, Chopin Unwrapped London and Tanglewood Festival of USA.

He performs regularly at Venues such a National Auditorium of Music in Madrid, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria, Konzerthaus in Berna, Konzerthaus in Dortmund, Concert House of Oslo, Arnold Schoerberg Hall in Los Ángeles, Seiji Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood, Shanghai Symphony Concert Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, and La Scala de Milán.

As a soloist he has performed with a number of orchestras including the ESMRS, the Orchestra Valencia, the Sinfonieorchester of Dortmund and the Orchestra of the Tanglewood Music Center, under the direction of Cristian Macelaru, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, George Alexander Albrecht and Max Bragado.

Mr. Cabrera has recorded for major media including RNE, RTVE, Radio France and Canal Internacional. Among his recording projects with Playclassics label, underline “Songs of Paolo Tosti” with Francisco Corujo, the completed polish songs by F. Chopin with Iwona Sobotka and “Cabrera plays Debussy” for piano solo, for the Playclassics label.
